Scientific name: Cananga odorata
Alias: Perfume tree
Main origin: Madagascar, Comoros Island
Extraction method: Ylang Ylang essential oil is extracted from flowers by fractional distillation to obtain a light yellow liquid. Its oil yield is 1~3%, that is, 100 kg of flowers can extract 1~3 kg of essential oil. Due to the use of circulating water distillation, Ylang Ylang essential oil does not produce pure dew.
Unique distillation process:The extraction method of Ylang Ylang essential oil is extremely special in aromatherapy, using staged steam distillation:
Extra Ylang (Extra): distilled for 25 minutes, rich in esters, and the sweetest smell.
First: distilled for 1 hour.
Second: distilled for 2 hours.
Third: distilled for 8 hours, the main component is sesquiterpenes, and the fragrance is lighter.
Complete Ylang-ylang (Complete): A mixture of four fractionation products, rich in odor and the most comprehensive therapeutic effect.
